A New History of St. Michael's Cornhill

St Michael’s, Cornhill by Peter Hughes, published January 2008, with a preface by the Rector, the Rev’d. Dr Peter Mullen.

This new history, based on the records in the Guildhall Library, gives a picture of the late-medieval St Michael’s, burnt down in 1666, of the late-17th century church, as rebuilt in 1670-73, and of the High Victorian church, as remodelled by Sir George Gilbert Scott. It covers the incumbencies of successive rectors and the story of St Michael’s as a centre of musical excellence and is followed by a personal reflection by Jonathan Rennert, director of music.

Available from: Mrs Lynne Mullen, The Watch House, 10 Giltspur Street, London EC1A 9DE, price £10, plus £2 postage and packing.
