Collect

We beseech thee, Almighty God, look upon the hearty desires of thy humble servants and stretch forth the right hand of thy Majesty to be our defender against all our enemies; through Jesus Christ Our Lord. Amen

The Collect for Ash Wednesday is said every day in Lent after the Collect for the Day

Epistle: Ephesians 5:1                                                                  Gospel St Luke 11:14

St Michael’s Wardmote Friday 12th March at 11.30am in the vestry

This is the Annual General Meeting for the Ward of Cornhill at which our Alderman Sir David Howard Bt will preside. The meeting – which includes some impressive ceremonial - is for the election of officers and includes a report on activities in the Ward over the past year. All residents of the parish and members of the congregation of St Michael’s are most welcome to attend

Confirmation Service within the Parish Communion, Sunday 18th April 11am

Happily, we have seven candidates and there is still time to offer your name. If – whether adult or child over twelve years - you have not been confirmed, this is an opportunity. Confirmation means simply what it says. It is the sacramental office in which the person being confirmed either takes upon himself the responsibility for the commitment made on his behalf by his godparents when he was christened or, if he was baptised as an adult, confirms before the Bishop his allegiance to the Gospel. All candidates should be familiar with The Catechism and The Order of Confirmation in The Book of Common Prayer
